Sher Bahadur Deuba dissatisfied with president Sushil Koirala

The Sher Bahadur Deuba camp in Nepali Congress (NC) is dissatisfied with president Sushil Koirala and his loyals for sidelining the demand for government change in the recent days.Deuba, who has been eyeing the post of Prime Minister, has started accusing Koirala of breaching a deal with him in exchange of the support in the nomination of Ram Chandra Paudel and Krishna Prasad Sitaula to the post of vice president and general secretary.Deuba and his loyals have claimed Koirala had agreed to help topple Paudel from the post of parliamentary leader and get Deuba elected to the post.President Koirala and leaders close to him, who used to talk about the change of government before the five-point deal, have stopped talking about government change. Instead, they have started talking about giving continuity to the present Jhala Nath Khanal-led government. In one of the meetings with UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, NC president Koirala even asked Nepal to stop talking about government change. The offer of government leadership to NC will bring a divide in the party, so it’s better to stay off the government for now, a source close to Nepal quoted Koirala. In the recent days, Koirala has been putting off the plans to change the parliamentary party fearing more division in the party.NC leader Deuba has been claiming, he can form a consensus government taking all political parties into confidence if he is made the parliamentary party leader.
